Beachwalk’s Lagoon: Making Waves in St. Johns County

There’s been a lot of buzz around our 14-acre sparkling Crystal Lagoon, and for good reason. It’s currently the largest man-made body of water in the United States and it’s an amenity that is exclusive to the residents of Beachwalk.

You may be thinking to yourself: “It can be hard to maintain my backyard swimming pool. How do they keep such a large water feature clean and working?” And, “How will they keep unwanted animals out?”

Sustainability and Affordability through Innovative Technology

For starters, the lagoon at Beachwalk is far from a swimming pool. It is powered by state-of-the-art technological systems that enable it to be more sustainable, and more affordable to operate and maintain than a traditional pool.

Crystal Lagoons®  utilized a patented, advanced evaporation control film technology to reduce evaporation and limit water consumption, up to 30 times less water than a golf course! Its innovative filtration system uses only 2% of the energy needed by conventional pool filtration systems, and it can treat the water with the use of minimal amounts of chemicals (100 times less the chemicals than are applied in swimming pools, to be exact).

So, how do we keep away pesky birds and other aquatic critters curious about our lagoon? Leave that up to our Goosinator and motion-sensored drones that will alert security any time there is suspicious movement in the water. Our staff is highly trained and ready to handle any unexpected visitors quickly and safely.

The Resort You Call Home

The beautiful lagoon is also the gateway to many of the other remarkable amenities available at Beachwalk, including a splash park for dogs, an 18-hole putting course, tennis courts, and so much more. The lagoon brings our residents together for social activities and more, but it’s just one part of why Beachwalk is revolutionizing the residential community experience.
